Stationery, the things we carried
A little gospel of some visionary
Between the pages, into the folds
We wrote it all down in red and in gold
Those were the days, I know
I found the petals inside of the letter
How these small things they make me feel better
I held up your cursive to see if it’s still there
I held up pages like some kind of seer
All is there, in letters
Why do you love me?
I know I don’t make it so easy
The garden was better without me
Why do you love me?
When I make it so very easy
To burn down this house that we’re building
Just open the letters you sent me
Why do you love at all?
Wrote about death, about the weather
We made it all up to make us feel better
Hold your tongue, our hands together
You waited for hours and then it was over
All gets said then buried
Why do you love me?
I know I don’t make it so easy
The garden was better without me
Why do you love me?
When I make it so very easy
To burn down this house that we’re building
Just open the letters you sent me
Why do you love at all?
The story’s beginning is the same as the ending
Tried to sort it without any meaning
But your face in that light (that light was fading)
I’d like to stay here the landscape keeps changing
Now once again with some feeling
Why do you love me?
I know I don’t make it so easy
The garden was better without me
Why do you love me?
When I make it so very easy
To burn down this house that we’re building
Just open the letters you sent me
Why do you love at all?

I have been a listener of Luxury since ‘Amazing and Thank You’ Lee’s thoughtful lyrics the instrumentation and raw emotion have always drawn me to this band. So far on this album I enjoy One of Those Things (Or) The Temple. Great job! jason hendry
